Akira Inumaru

Light is the subject of all of Akira Inumaru’s thoughts.

It is what gives power to the plants,

it is what transforms the materials, …

the essential element for all that lives and all that is created.

 

The work follows a process that begins with a photo

in which the artist focuses on shadows,

then he draws with precise control

and lastly through a method he calls solar distillation

a magnifying glass is used to burn the paper

and create a new image.
